It’s still the case in mid-2013 that Dropbox doesn’t search the contents of text-based files, nor does it support searching only within a certain folder tree.

An alternative is to use Windows’ builtin search with some Google-like operators.

If that’s not powerful enough, I recommend PowerGREP.
